FNAC / Biopsy
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Male/31 - small lump - posterior part of *both thighs - rarely noticeable - soft but becomes hard and standing stiff - Nearby Doctor referred to a Surgeon - both inguinal LNs subcentimeter - scared and thinking of cancer- photograph is not giving any additional information
I would like to know further details:
- You have written about Inguinal nodes, this means you have undergone some investigations. Please post or write those reports too or attach with this query.
These will help us both.
- When have you noticed the lumps?
- Present on both thighs?
- Please let me know if FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) or biopsy has been done or not.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Yes, please meet the Surgeon. This is important as the Surgeon is well trained in these problems and his palpation by fingers can give you the solace. The clinical evaluation and actual physical examination tells a lot of and give a probable diagnosis.
- Additional FNAC or excision biopsy of the lumps and the nodes will confirm the diagnosis.
- Once the diagnosis is confirmed , a proper treatment can be performed if required.
Cancers usually do not occur in both the thighs at the same time. Hence more likely to be lipomas.
Inguinal lymph nodes in both the groins can be due to an infection in the scrotal or perineal area or both the feet. FNAC of these lymph nodes helps a lot.
I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask further relevant queries or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication.
I have attached additional reports. Its CT scan for whole abdomen taken recently after my wife diagnosed with TB to check whether it is also for me. So far biopsy not done. Doctor already told to do biopsy for inguinal node. Is it required for such small size?. Please advise. I will also attach my blood reports shortly.
Really iam scared when it comes to lump , biopsy etc ..
Do not be scared, get the diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback and the reports. Seen all.
The serum protein is a bit low, inguinal nodes on CT as also small stones and microliths in kidneys. There is no evidence of TB or any other disease in the abdomen.
Please get the biopsy done, this is a small surgery but can give 100 % diagnosis whether this is non-specific (without obvious cause) or specific meaning any specific cause is found. Please get this done ASAP, this is the best chance.Get at least FNAC done. It does not matter whether this is a small size or a large one.It is almost 1 cm.
Do not be scared. I can understand the plight you must be already under the treatment.
Please let me know further reports.
