What Causes A Small Painful Bump On The Lower Eye Lid?
Question: Hi Doc,
I have noticed a small pimple kind of bump on my lower eye lid. Its really painful to close the eye. I tried applying hot fomentation for temporary relief. Could you please prescribe me some oral antibiotics to cure this fast.

Hi,
Thanks for your query on HCM.
I read your message. I suspect the bump you described could be chalazion which can be due to inflammation of meibomian gland(oil producing gland on eyelids). It occur in lower or upper eyelid.
For now you can apply hot fermentation atleast 10mins 4-5 times a day, Tab.CHYMORAL FORTE thrice daily after food.
Since how many days you have this bump on eyelid?
Is it located on the edge of eyelid or away from the edge of eyelid?
If you can post a pic, it will be really helpful to differentiate chalazion from stye and i can advise you for further management

I have noticed it in the morning. its located in the middle of the lower eye lid. I have attached the pic with this. Please let me know what i can do to alleviate the pain.

I saw the pic, but its not clear to differentiate. Does it have any fluid collection?
Only thing i can notice is its very small in size.
You can continue Tab CHYMORAL FORTE which reduces the swelling.Apply hot fermentation 4-5 times a day. In case of fluid collection you can get it drained from an Opthalmologist. In case if there is no fluid collection, Mostly it dissapears by itself.
