What Causes A Sudden Rise In Blood Glucose Levels Despite Taking Insulin?

Question: My mothers age is 67, she has a high sugar level above 300. She had a stroke last November 2017. Yesterday night suddenly her BP and sugar went up. She is taking insulin and other medication. All her reports are normal only the sugar is really high. My query is what can we do to control her sugar level?
Brief Answer:
Insulin titration.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If she is already on insulin, ideally the only way is to increase the dose of insulin to immediately control the sugar.
All other measures would take a long time to control.
Her doctor knows her basal insulin requirements and the target blood sugars. On that basis, he can tell you how much extra insulin would be sufficient to bring it to target.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
