What Causes A Sudden Swelling And Tenderness Near The Cubital Nodes?

Question: I have sudden swelling and tenderness in what I think is near the cubital nodes. It's not a defined small node swelling, it is tender to the touch, and seems like there is some hardness in the center. However, it's not really anything I can move, but yet isn't attached to anything below the skin, just a swollen patch. No fever/weight loss/fatigue, no redness or heat on site. Exact location is arm extended in front of me, palm up, straight from the pinky up my arm just to the side of/past the crease of my elbow. Being on the inside of the arm (top when palm side is up), it's hard believe I injured it. What are some other considerations?

I appreciate your concern

Muscle sprain leading to stress on tendon/ ligaments can lead to swelling and pain. Acute onset of such swelling with pain makes it unlikely for this to be a malignant cause.

NSAIDs , local icepacks and physiotherapy alone would suffice. If the pain persists then the area needs to be examined. X rays can be advised to look for a possible cause e.g soft tissue swelling, arthritis. On examination lymph node enlargement should be assessed and if present the areas draining them should be assessed for any focus of infection.
