Question: I have a tender and sore spot in my left temple. There is a lump in that same spot.

Tenderness and lump usually indicate some kind of infection in the soft tissues. If there was a lump before, and now it became tender, infected sebaceus cyst is most probable reason.

As you have diabetes and the lump is close to the brain, you should not wait with it. Please consult your doctor or surgeon. In some cases such lump should be incised and drained. And antibiotic is necessary.
