Brief Answer:
It suggests an abnormal area in the right lung which requires evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us.

An opacity is a problem area in the chest xray. The right mid zone is an area which lies in the middle of the right lung field and might represent the right middle and lower lobes.

Opacity in the lung is usually from an infection but rarely can be from an inflammation or neoplasm.

An opacity in the lung is to be characterised in detail and usually a CT scan helps.

One should not ignore an opacity in the chest xray and it is recommended that you have a quick appointment with your doctor and discuss the need for a CT scan.

Once the cause of the opacity is confirmed then required treatment is to be provided.
