What Causes Abdominal Bloating Along With Constipation And Acid Reflux?

Posted on Tue, 5 Sep 2017
Question: Until about two months ago, my bowl movements were very consistent both in timing and physical size, shape and consistency (I.e. every morning around 10:00 AM and again around bed time with firm, brown stool that usually sunk to the bottom of the bowl). A couple months ago I ate some homemade baked beans that I later found out were over a week old. Within a few hours of eating the beans, I became very bloated and had wet gas (which I have never experienced previously). Since that time, I have urgent bowl movements within 30 minutes of eating and several times in between. The bowl movements are usually preceded by a large amount of gas and clear to slightly brown mucus. I do not dare pass gas unless I am on the toilet due to the mucus almost always being present with the gas. The stool is now much thinner in diameter and softer. Until yesterday the color was a light brown with mucus on the ends. Almost all of the stool floats. I assumed that the beans had screwed up the balance in my system and that it would eventually rectify itself but Yesterday, the stool and mucus has a green tinge to it. I thought that this change was attributed to a salad I had for lunch; however, the green has gotten even darker today even to the point of turning the water green.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you fro asking.
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
1. Your symptoms like bloating, thin stools may be related with indigestion .
All your symptoms started after beans usage. This si why to my opinion you are intolerant or alergicdue to beans.
2. To my opinion you have a misbalance of gut mucosa due to beans use.
Otherwise yoir symptoms may be related with :
- IBS
- candida overgrowth
Usually IBs aggravates due to foos intolerance as in your case.
3. To my opinion you need to be evaluated with:
- fecal culture test
- fecal test for food malabasorbtion
- colonoscopy
to better evaluate the cause of your symptoms.
Meantime I suggest to use probiotics and plenty of water.
Hope it was helpful to you!
