I am taking jentadueto 2.5/1,000 mg twice a day. Lipitor 20 and asprin.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Age of 70 with diabetes (Diabetic gastroparesis) and history of smoking are altogether responsible for this functional bowel disorder leading to bloating and distension. Apart from it the medication you take specially Jentadueto itself is notorious for diarrhea and such bowel loose motions.
You can modify diet and lifestyle , avoid smoking, use fibrous diet in plenty along with adequate fluid intake . Take some gastric motility agents like domperidone or itopride. Control your sugar levels and better revert to insulin. Replacing this medication itself will solve many issues itself of bowel discomfort. Plus old age is not comfortable with metformin in your jentadueto.
Seek a gastroenterologist for further management of this diabetic gastroparesis.
