What Causes Abdominal Cramping Post Colon Removal?

Question: It's been a long time since I've contacted you. I didn't quite get the system and am trying to consolidate.
Looks like I'm stuck with mesh; I eventually evacuate but, I couldn't clean out after drinking twice the amount before colonoscopy. Abdominal cramping and pain where strips of mesh attach colon. So specialized here yet because my abdomen is covering intestines and I have pain where he removed colon, nobody is going to take me on. So, a once beautiful life, so spent trying to explain but much lost in translation and, all the tests in the world are no good if it's stuck in a record. Why would I have such awful gastro pain that I didn't have prior and why do I have pain where he cut hole in side of rectum to place colon? No sense to this.

It really hurts when you know the patient is not recovering

I can well understand the agony you would have been passing through

Yet I would at this point reassure you, there is a solution to every thing

Take plenty of fluids orally , add extra fiber and take atleast 20 gms of Psyllum husk at bed time to help you evacuate

There is a molecule called lubiprostone which can be of help to you, start with 24 mgs twice a day and maintain with 8 mg twice a day. Discuss about this your doctor.

In the mean time go for a XXXXXXX based follow through study of the entire GI Track which will help us know the function and structure of the system

Once the reports are with us we can reconsider the things and come to some thing concrete

Thank you. I will close and follow through. Before unnecessary surgery, I had no gastro pain or build up. 10 months my provider was gone so I reported new pain to caseworker who doesn't have notes. So, they upped pain drugs, which I am safely weaning, but, the pain where colon was connected is so intense, I am restricted. I don't understand why drugs instead of searching for reason has happened, but, I have to stop thinking there is no hope. The infected site is painful. Anything you can say about this?
You are one of few to follow through and have compassion. I don't understand our system except drs are so afraid of being sued, they hesitate to get involved. Thank you, and, no reason for all these other drs. I lost you and glad you have been found.

I would suggest you gradually stop analgesics
Infection can not stay this long

One thing which comes to mind though very remote, is the foreign body reaction from the mesh or involvement of some sacral nerves in the mesh

Yes medicolegal issues cause lot of stress in ant health care providers life, so I have always stressed on a healthy Doctor-Patient relation ship

Drs also are human beings, some errors may creep in but can be managed by a healthy relationship with the patient

Any way I would suggest you take Gabapentin 600 mg twice a day and a good probiotic twice a day for two to three weeks, if there is any nerve involvement in the mesh, this molecule will help

Nobody traces where the colon goes into side of rectum which is where I have the pain before I started with all the gastro issues. Two strips of mesh attached to rectum/colon - where, inside would it be attached? There is so much pressure that, when I walk, the "toothache" pain begins.
Could this be something other than the way he connected? It feels like if something could just be loosened, I'd get relief?

What I gather from your complains is that there is a feeling of something being tightly attached which if relieved will give you relief

But actually in prolapse rectum it has to be anchored to some good tissue in the pelvis so just relax and get the report done

If there is any nerve twig entangled Gabapentin will help

Follow through study will give the exact anatomy and transit of the GI tract so we will be able to trace where the colon goes in to the side of the rectum
