What Causes Abdominal Cramps During 40 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

Question: Hi

I am 40 weeks pregnant. I still haven't felt any contractions. My doc wants me to get admitted and get induced for labor.

I want to ask if it is advisable to wait for few more days or should I go for induced labor.

My latest usg is fine and baby growth is good. It seems to be stabilised now.
Also today NST was performed which was fine as well with good fetal activity.

Please advise for how long can I wait.

Thanks for writing into us with your health concerns. It would be correct to induce labor now as after 40 weeks there is no benefit to continuing the pregnancy. It might add to complications if you wait for long after 40 weeks. It is not very unusual to not feel labor pains at 40 weeks.
