Question: My husband has been having issues with his stomach lately. Complains of abdominal discomfort, feeling of bloating. Diarrhea with consistency of coffee ground to shredded wheat (normal color, no black or tarry stools) This has been ongoing for 5 days now. Urgency a few hours after eating. Urgency throughout the day. I suspect IBS or possibly Crohns as there is a genetic link. He may have a virus as I have had bronchitis and sinusitis for 2 weeks now. What is your opinion?

After reading your post, I would like to advise that he should get an Endoscopy done.
Coffee colored stool may indicate bleeding in upper gastrointestinal tract.
Also get his stool examined.

I would advise that he should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg.
If reports suggest infection, he should take an antibiotic and antiamoebic.
A probiotic will have added benefits.

He should eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions.
He should also maintain his hydration.
