Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms, diagnosis and treatment received so far.
The abdominal distension (swelling) is probably related to cirrhosis of liver and poor kidney function. Both would lead to retention of water, which can cause swelling of belly, and swelling of feet.
In the initial phase, following measures would help reduce the distension of abdomen:
1. Fluid restriction to 1-1.5 liters per day,
2. Use of diuretics such as spironolactone or frusemide, which would lead to loss of extra fluid in the urine,
3. Restriction of salt and protein intake.
These issues can be further discussed with your nephrologist and herpetologist.
For the brain damage and resulting disability, you can start vigorous physiotherapy and exercises.
I am sure you would get better with proper treatment.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
