What Causes Abdominal Pain After Taking Norco?

I am suffering from pretty intense stomach pain/bloating and looking for relief. I had been taking 3-6 10/325 Norco for about 10 weeks while I was going through a bout with a kidney stone that was finally removed surgically. The pain was bad enough Friday to go to urgent care but they ran blood etc and everything came back normal. I was not too impressed with the Dr and curious if I could be detoxing from the medication after this length of time? It did not cross my thoughts while at the urgent care but once I searched my symptom it became somewhat apparent of the possibility. This seems to be one of the common side effects. If I am suffering withdrawal from the Norco, please provide some remedies for relief of the stomach pain and bloating. Also, how long should I be experiencing the discomfort?
Need clarification....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Yes, opioid including Narco is listed to cause abdominal pain during withdrawal period. However since you have no other anxiety related complaints, I would not call these opioid withdrawal issue straight away; well atleast not with 100% guarantee.
I would like to know which part of the abdomen (right/ left, above / below) hurts? Is it related to the food? Did you go through an endoscopy tests? Was liver function and ultrasound scan test performed?
As the complaints are arising from the abdomen, I would start you on a proton pump inhibitor. You can try prilosec OTC for couple of weeks. If you don't get better, I would refer you to a gastroenterologist. He/she will run the tests again. Endoscopy and ultrasound examination are two tests that would be needed.
Along with these drug, I recommend that you avoid spicy food. Cut down all caffeinated beverages. Start physical exercise, yoga and transcedental meditation.
Hope this helps. Let me now if you need clarifications.
Regards
