Brief Answer:
Dyspepsia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for query

When we cough, we use muscles in the ribs and stomach that normally are not used a whole lot. If you are coughing a lot an using these muscles a lot, they can become sore just like any other muscle.
Most likely you are suffering from indigestion also termed medically as dyspepsia. Its is an intestinal infection marked by cramps, belching bloating .However its not necessary that all symptoms are there in a single patient.
Basically dyspepsia results when the acid of the stomach comes in contact with the mucosa of the digestive tract. These acids cause a breakdown of the mucosa leading to inflammation and irritation, which leads to indigestion. It may also result from eating disorders or certain medications.
The pathophysiology of gas and bloating is complicated.
The term gut microflora or microbiota means hundeds of species of bacteria which lives in our intestinal tractintestinal tract. These bacterias and yeast are responsible for proper digestion and fermentation of food. Hundereds of species of bacteria and yeast re found in colon of human intestine. In the same way thousands of these species florishes in our gut these bacteria play a vital role in digestuio and absorption of food.Even minor disturbances in gut microflora can lead to significant changes in gut function, including gas production. This gas presses the nerves passing through intestines hence causing intermittent pain.

, I would suggest you not to worry too much.
Take a proton pump inhibitor like Esomeprazole 40 mg twice daily along with a prokinetic drug (eg.Domperidone) for 3 days. This will provide you symptomatic relief from symptoms.
Any over counter probiotic should be taken for few days to provide relief in symptoms of indigestion.

General precautions-
Don't sleep immediately after eating, wait for at least two hours before you go to bed
Avoid spicy foods as they tend to aggravate symptoms of dyspepsia
Space out your meals, eat multiple smaller meals instead of few large ones
Restrict smoking and alcohol consumption

Hope i answered your well.
