Question: hello doctor

I generally have a menstrual cycle of 40days but this time got my periods on time. N I usually have severe abdominal pain lower back pain which didn't occur this time at all. But it's been 12days I'm still having periods. First 4days very less n after that heavy flow. yesterday had low bp n fatigue. though now fine. I've started workout n zumba last month ..can workout be a reason or it can be something serious? Was a little worried. Just wanted a suggestion. Shall I go and have a check up done. Or is it normal as I don't have any pain and all. when can I start workout again.
again.

Brief Answer:
Ideal to visit a gynecologist...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through the details with diligence. You have reported excessive bleeding - both heavy flow as well as longer duration than expected. Now, this may or may not be related to workout. Stressors are known to cause hormonal disturbance, but it would be ideal if all other causes are ruled out too.

In this circumstance, I would first start you on medicines to reduce / stop bleeding. Tranexamic acid available as tablet pause need to be started along with iron supplements. It should help reduce bleeding. Ultrasound examination as well as few blood test may be needed.

In the nutshell, my recommendation is to visit a gynecologist who can start you on the aforementioned tablet and order tests.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
