What Causes Abdominal Pain Below The Ribcage?
I am having a slightly nagging pain in my lower left side, mid abdominal section, right beneath my rib cage. It's been there for about two weeks and just feels of general discomfort and bloating-feel (with no sharp shooting pains), and is exacerbated whenever I eat. I have made an appointment with my GP for a week from today; but should I be ultra concerned and make a trip to the ER or Outpatient Clinic? I unfortunately googled the symptoms, and now I think I have everything under the sun.
Many many thanks,

Your symptoms can be due to gastritis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms can be due to gastritis. Some medicines and precautions will help you in relieving your symptoms.
An Endoscopy and ultrasound of abdomen will be helpful in planning your medical management.
I would advise that you can take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg.
Following precautions may be helpful :-
1.Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2.Avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
3.Avoid mental and emotional stress.
4.Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
5.Avoid self medications, especially pain killers and steroids.
6.Avoid gas producing foods like peas, cabbage, legumes, etc.
7.Eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions.
8.Drink lots of water daily.
I hope this is helpful to you.
If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
