What Causes Abnormal Vaginal Discharge While On Implanon?

Question: i have had the implanon in my arm since april 2016 and have not had my period which is normal for me as this is the second implanon ive had. but for about a week now I have had unusual amount of discharge and last night and this morning it was a pink colour, I have had cramping and swollen/sore breasts for the last week and a bit aswell. I thought I was getting my period or at least spotting but the pink discharge ive never had before

I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

It can happen that under implanon you can have certain changes like this. Sometimes woman do not have any bleeding for years, but sometimes they have a lot of bleeding or spotting. It depends on the hormonal levels, stress, extreme diet changes and exercising- not sure if any of these apply in your case.

I would not worry about it. But, if the spotting becomes profuse like bleeding and that bothers you for a long time, then maybe you will need to consider seeing a local doctor(Gynaecologist) and remove the implanon. But that its to be seen.

Consider also doing a urine pregnancy test, if you have been sexually active. The possibility of being pregnant its very low, but still a small possibility its there.
