What Causes Absence Of Heart Beat At 9th Week Of Pregnancy?

Question: I had a pill induced abortion December 26 2014. I got pregnant in April with my last LMP being 04/2. I went for my 9 week u/s yesterday and I measure 9 weeks but no heart beat. I go for a d and c next week...could this silent miscarriage be from my self induced abortion?

Hello dear,welcome to healthcaremagic.I understand your concern.
I my opinion pill induced abortion might not be related to present state of pregnancy.
A pregnancy of 9 weeks with no heartbeat might be a missed abortion.
The most common cause for a missed abortion is genetic anamolies.The other causes are hormonal abnormalities like thyroid abnormalities,progesterone insufficiency,infections etc.
But the pill induced abortion is not the cause.Don't worry.This might not be repeated in further pregnancire.
Give a gap of 3 months before next conception.Take tab.Folic acid once a day one month before planing the next pregnancy.
