What Causes Absence Of Periods?
Question: Hi,
Me and my wife had been doing family planning for last 1 year after our marriage. However, my wife got pregnant so we mutually decided for abortion and duly consulted the doctor. As advised we had done 'surgical abortion' on 15th july 2014. Since then she has not her periods (MC) from 2 and half months almost.
we had consulted the doctor on 9th September and also done sonography ( Attached). he has also given her the 12 tablets Tab Regestrone 5 for the periods however its of no use. Today we have visited the doctor and he has given us the hint of doing curating procedure again or giving 21 Tablets and wait for periods.
My wife is frustrated ,agitated and does not want to undergo curating procedure again.
I would like to know :
1. Why my wife has not got her periods
2. Is our doctor suggesting right options?
3. What are the future implications if we want to discontinue family planning?

1. We have not engaged in sexual intercourse since her abortion.
2. She got severe pain in stomach twice in these months but no periods

2. Is our doctor suggesting right options?
-- Yes, he is. But I would not recommend curettage again. Its not safe for future pregnancies.
3. What are the future implications if we want to discontinue family planning?
-- You can continue. There would be no problem but choose the right one.
For next 3 months use a barrier method only after that you can use hormonal contraception.
