What Causes Aches In Left And Right Groin While Getting Up?
See DR, X rays, CT scan, blood tests, arthritis
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
The fact that the pain increases while you walk means there is a mechanical component involved. This could either imply friction of a joint, tendons, tension or pressure of specific muscles or bony structures. It is however still very important to check if there is a chronic inflammatory component involved with this pain.
An Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) is the most appropriate exam in this case. If raised, this would imply an inflammatory component, and would warrant or justify the use of anti inflammatory drugs to manage the pain.
I strongly suggest a proper clinical review from your doctor first. This would orientate the main types of X rays that need to be done, and the main incidences that could be most informative. CT scans and magnetic rasonance scans could be required at some point. Arhtritis, Rheumatologic conditions like Rheumatic arthritis, Polymyalgia Rheumatica could present as such. Osteoarthritis of the hip joint and aseptic necrosis of the femoral head (disease of the head of the thigh bone) must be carefully checked for and excluded. ESR and tests for Rheumatoid factor, C3 fragment of the complement system and Anti nuclear Anti bodies are essential screen tests that could very informative.
My opinion is you get a proper review from your primary care physician with these suggestions in mind. Kind regards.
