Inflammation of the stomach mucosa is also known as acute gastritis. Ifritation of mucosa by acid causes inflammation in particular area this inflammed aeea causes pain nausea.Dyspepsia is known as indigestion. It is a term that describes discomfort or pain in the upper abdomen. However, it's not a disease in itself. Dyspepsia is a group of symptoms which often include bloating, nausea and heartburn.
Possible causes and habits that could lead to these include the excessive consumption of alcohol, coffee, tea, and lemon juice on an empty stomach.
When foods enter into injured areas it further increases tge intensity of problem.
Symptoms of acute gastritisand dyspepsia are-
Lack of the feeling of hunger, especially breakfast.
Vomiting and occasionally blood in the vomit or the stool.
Burning feeling in the stomach.
Feeling of pain the stomach and in the area of the ribs.
Recommendation-
Take a proton pump inhibitor like Rabeprazole 20 mg twice daily along with a prokinetic drug (eg.Domperidone) for 7 days. This will provide you symptomatic relief from symptoms of dyspepsia and gastritis (you may need to obtain prescription for this from your local physician).
Any over counter probiotic like Econorm should be taken for few days to provide relief in symptoms of indigestion.
Cap Aristozyme(Digestive enzymes) twicecdaily.
Apart from this, some dietary restrictions are to be followed fir one week.
- No aerated beverages.
- Take light non spicy easily digestible food for few days.
- No Fast food like pizza or burger should be taken.
- Drink a cup of cold milk.
- Avoid fatty foods.
