Question: Question to Dr XXXXXXX : My wife 61 yrs old had been suffering from acute nausea, vomiting tendency and burning and pain sensation on heart and abdomen. Blood test showed high SGOT, SGPT, PNP AMP to the level of 160, 192, 542. Dr asked to get admitted. pl suggest some treatment or second opinion.

I have read your query and am going to try to help you with it.

From the symptoms that you have stated, I have a strong feeling that the condition is due to something called as acid peptic disease. I think if you have a look at the net for these symptoms, you will find that the condition causes exactly the same symptoms that you have mentioned.

A high levels of liver enzymes may be explained due to many other causes. And therefore I think, that it should be evaluated.

I think checking the following test will help guide us to the reason of the ailment
a. uhi endoscopy
b. usg abdomen
c. HBsAg, Anti HCV
d. Repeat LFT in a week from the date of the original tests

Meanwhile try a combination of the following medicines
a. proton pump inhibitors
b. sucralfate
c. oxetacaine
