What Causes Amenorrhea While On Birth Control Pills?

Question: Hello my doctor 2 months ago took me off my birth control after being on it for 5 years and I was in the middle of the pack but haven't gotten my period yet. I read that if you stop mid pack it can take a while to get your period back but I'm worried.
Brief Answer:
Progesterone withdrawal
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Yes it is common to have post pill amenorrhea after a prolonged intake of oral pills.
It is especially more common if left in between or erratically.
So nothing to worry and just wait for your periods for a couple of weeks and in case you still don't get them then take progesterone pills for withdrawal of periods.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
At least 2 weeks
Detailed Answer:
Yes at least two more weeks but frankly there are chances that you still may not get your periods and need progesterone withdrawal.
Some patients stay without periods for 3-6 months even.
So nothing to worry it will be fine soon
