Brief Answer:
A low FSH means you are not in menopause

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

There are many causes of amenorrhea (not getting your period) Menopause is one of them, but a low FSH level indicates that you have a condition called hypothalamic amenorrhea, which is different and treatable.

FSH is a hormone that is made in the pituitary gland that basically detects when your estrogen is low. It stimulates your ovaries to make estrogen.

If your ovaries don't work because you have no more eggs (menopause) the ovary cannot make estrogen. But the FSH doesn't know that, and keeps trying to signal the ovary to make estrogen. This makes FSH HIGH and that it is why people in menopause have high FSH.

Your FSH is low because your brain, in a place called your hypothalamus, is not signaling your pituitary to make FSH properly.

Fortunately, fertility medications are very effective in treating this condition. If you desire pregnancy, you should consult with a fertility specialist as your condition is treatable.

I hope this information was helpful. If I adequately answered your question today, kindly close it. Thank you for using healthcare magic.com and best of luck achieving pregnancy.
