default
Posted on Fri, 26 Jun 2015
Question: I have a bump on my mons pubis. It has been there for about 2 weeks. I popped it and bloody pus came out. Now I can still feel the bump. But the skin over it is soft and feels like extra skin. It doesn't hurt. It never hurt. I'm just not sure what it is.

Brief Answer:
may be due boil formation at a hair follicle

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It may be due to folliculitis which is infection of a hair follicle. This can occur at different points on the body.

The folliculitis can be mild or can progress to form an abscess/boil which is a collection of pus.
Pus is commonly mixed with blood.

The bump would take a while to completely resolve even though the pus has come out of it.
It can sometimes take up to 2 weeks for this to occur.

If there is still as small amount of pus present, then the use of warm compresses to the area would help any other discharge to come out.

A topical antibiotic can be applied as well.

This can be obtained over the counter.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
