What Causes An Electric Shock Like Feeling In The Stomach?
Question: I have an electric shock feeling in the middle left of my stomach. It's been happening for about a week now and is very frequent. Any idea what this may be?
Brief Answer:
Sounds like disc prolapse
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal
I have read your query
I think I will be able to help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a thoracolumbar spondylosis or disc.
In This condition, the disc between the vertebra in the backbone gets displaced and starts compressing the nerve that comes out of the backbone leading to pain and tingling and numbness.
In your case it is high leading to the shock like sensation
I would suggest an MRI of the back. (MRI DL spine)
Meanwhile a prescription of PPI like omeprazole 2 mg once a day, with pregabalin should help you
Best of luck

If the MRI confirms this what can be done to fix it?
Brief Answer:
Depends on the extent of the problem
Detailed Answer:
It will depend entirely on the extent of the condition
If tit is mild, tablets may help
If its more severe, physiotherapy may also be needed
In severest cases, surgery is sometimes needed.
I hope that helps
Best of luck
