What Causes An Itchy Lump At The Base Of Skull?
Question: I have a very itchy lump at the base of my skull on the left side. Yesterday it was on the right side. It feels like a bug bite and itches more when touched.

What do you mean, a fungal infection? The bump is not even red. My husband examined it.

I have not been able to examine you clinically. Hence I had asked for an image of the affected area. At this point of time, with limited data available, all I can do is to speculate. Fungal infections are the most common cause of itchiness like the one you described. Redness is not always associated.
I would strongly insist you to upload an image and to give me any other information that could be relevant.
