What Causes Anemia And Fatigue?

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Oct 2016
Question: After a recent colonoscopy and biopsy the VA said I have granularity in the ascending colon. My blood counts have been between 9.6-10.3 for the last 18 months. I have been fatigued as well. What does the granularity and the low blood count/fatigue tell me?

Brief Answer:
Iron deficiency anemia

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query long list of reports.
I had gone through one by one. I did not find anything concerning except the Iron deficiency anemia with high transferrin. At some reports I found high neutrophil percentage with high WBC which is commonly due to infections.

Granuality has no specific meaning, the biopsy has to confirm anything in the ascending colon. Granuality is seen in many inflammatory conditions of the colon even the typhoid, crohn's etc. So do not let your thoughts linger about the specific term but take it a whole picture with biopsy.

Iron deficiency has to be treated which is already being done. That is chief reason for fatigue.

Just wait for the report and let me know the results of biopsy.

Good health.
