![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I am feeling ankle numbness on the skin at outer side of the ankle (calcaneus position) on my left leg for the past few days.
It started as when i was using the washroom and sat on the cummod, due to pressure on thigh the leg got numb and this happened twice. It recovered from numbness but after a day the ankle numbness started.
Please prescribe me the best way to recover form this. When i wear shoes, it feels like the outer side of ankle sole is broken.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms may be due to nerve compression
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You are having symptoms associated with nerve compression os sciatic or common perennial nerve.
Are you having any back pain also?
You can avoid sitting for prolonged periods on hard surface or sitting cross legged.
If the numbness is persistent you should visit a neurologist for detailed evaluation, examination and investigations.
May be you require a nerve conduction study. Blood tests may be required too.
For treatment you can take methylcobalmin supplementations.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

I have back pain, but it comes and goes which seems very normal. But not very acute pain or something like that. A little back stretch and massage by hand calms the pain. Seems to me as due to tiredness.
Is methylcobalmin name of medicine? I remember to have taken 4 tablets of "Nerobian fort" everynight for 4 days.
Is this a normal case or specific? If normal what is the time frame this should go off using medicines.
Please provide me detail of place where the above required evaluation can be done at the same place.

Brief Answer:
consult a neurologist and neuro centre for investigations
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
You need to visit a neurologist or hospital with nerve conduction testing lab. Blood test can be planned if required by the neurologist after examination. If significant objective numbness is present then the nerve conduction study may be required.
Low back pain may also be associated with radiculopathy.
Methylcobalamin is the name of vitamin B12. Brand names may be available on internet. Dosage of around 1500 mcg should be taken daily.
If the nerve compression is not much then you should recover in less than a month.
Neurobione forte is having low dose of vitamin B12.
