What Causes Anxiety And Blurred Vision When On Valdoxan?

Question: i Am a 86 year old lady who is described by doctors an others as a"very young 86". I have been for
the last 3 years on and off antidepressants :Endep ,Cymbalta and now on Valdoxan.Cymbalta agreed
with me but I was taken off it because I lost consciousness one day in my bathroom .Valdoxan is
supposed to be free of side effects ,but I seem to have increased anxiety, difficulty sleeping, blurred
vision and generally not well. My question is : Should I stop or continue with Valdoxan?

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
However I would require a couple of more details to help you in answering your query in a better justified way.
1. Since how long are you on Valdoxan?
2. Since how long are you having side-effects?
3. any medical issues?
Hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.

Brief Answer:
It could be Valdoxin

Hello
Its not possible to exactly pin-point the cause for the symptoms that you have stated but in all possibility it appears that Valdoxin could be responsible for this problem and hence needs to be switched. I understand that you have already tried couple of other antidepressants but I would suggest you go for escitalopram which is very effective and safe in old age as well. The other options could be mirtazapine or venlafaxine etc.
Also if you are averse to taking drugs, then there is a good option of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This therapy is taken by either a psychologist or a psychiatrist in which the therapist identifies impaired cognitions (Thoughts) and try to correct them. They are 15-20 min weekly session and there should be around 8-10 sessions to help you with your illness.
You may try any of these above options but veldoxin probably needs to be discontinued.
Kind regards
