Brief Answer:
There is indication toward obsessive compulsive disorder

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query with keen interest and understand your concerns.

From the available description I feel there is ample evidence to suggest diagnosis of obsessive compulsive disorder provided these experiences and thoughts taking more than one hour of every day.

Obsessive compulsive disorder is disorder which is characterized by intrusive thoughts, images and impulses which tend to recur despite resistance by individual. The anxiety symptoms dominate the picture if compulsive behavior not carried out. I mean to say that if the person do not do what his thoughts ask him to do there is intense anxiety.

I like to inform you that this can occur without any presence or secondary to cannabis use/abuse.

Having said this the problem is treatable to a large extent with use of medications and psychotherapy. In your case I feel the combination of both will be better choice for early response.

I request you to see a psychiatrist as soon as possible as delayed treatment likely to cause more problems than any benefit.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
SSRI will be better choice

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

In the treatment of OCD treatment of choice is SSRI group of medications which include fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, serrtrline, paroxetine and escitalopram.

Among these options fluoxetine 20 mg per day is most commonly used starting dose for treatment of OCD.

I must acknowledge that most of the patient respond differently to medication and drug treatment is never sufficient in patients with moderate to severe OCD as in your case.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.

Brief Answer:
Combination of medication and counseling

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

As suggested earlier combination of medication and counseling will be the best strategy to manage your symptoms.

For this you need to visit to a psychiatrist in your city as he is competent enough to provide both under single roof.

I hope this clarifies.
Thanks and regards.
