Brief Answer:
Consult Onchologist urgently.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the query.
Appearance of ball like bumps after 8-10 years of treatment for
testicular cancer has to be bothering. I can understand your concern.
The exact description of site of the lump your husband has with past history of testicular cancer strongly suggest -
- Secondary to testicular cancer, though the chances are only 2-3%, it is taken as first possibility in old age. Though it may be either colon or lymph nodes that are involved, lymph nodes seem to be more possible (because he feels multiple balls)
- Though
Lyme disease has symptoms related to skin/nerves, involvement of scrotal skin causing lymph node enlargement needs to be excluded.
* The fast progress of cancer is a well known fact. So I would I advice you to consult your
Oncologist immediately, for early diagnosis. Prompt treatment give best chances of recovery to cancer patients.
** So the advice given is an urgent consultation of Onchologist.
* The oncologist wills advice investigations like X-ray/MRI to locate the site & nature of lumps
- Gland
biopsy is advised in few cases for confirming diagnosis.
- Routine blood counts/general health check up for other health problems will be followed by treatment,High
chemotherapy is effective in many cases.
* please don't worry, Testicular cancer secondaries are highly treatable
* Before I stop, I would
stress for-
- Well balanced nourishing diet, drinking lot of water,
- Avoiding alcohols/
tobacco chewing (for they are known to cause colonic involvement,
- Positive thinking of patient, good psychological support form yourself &
Other family members/friends does have a good effect on recovery.
I hope you found the answer informative & useful. If you have any follow up query, I would be happy to help.
Wish you all the best, Thanks.
