What Causes Arm Pain Radiating Towards Fingers?
Question: This is bizarre, but I often get pain in my arms, radiating down to my fingers when I urinate! Is there a reason for this or is it a symptom of something wrong? I am a 78 year old female and am followed by both a cardiologist and a pulmonologist (not their field). I am also a retired RN (orthopedics) but have never heard of anything like this!
Brief Answer:
Possibly positional compression of nerves while urination( spondylosis)
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
There is actually no reason as to why you should experience pain in both arms reaching your fingers when you urinate but the only likely possibility is that there may be an element of cervical spondylosis at C6-C7 vertebrae which can compress the spinal nerves to arm while sitting in loo to urinate. It is likely that you may bend and hence cause the compression thereof.
Else there is no real reason for this symptom to be associated with urination. I suggest you get a X-ray cervical spine done to rule out ant cervical spondylosis first.
regards
