What Causes Back Pain Radiating To The Right Side Of My Waist And Right Leg?
Question: Dr.
For sometime now I have suffered from back pains radiating recently to the right side of my waist and right leg such that at times I walk with a limp. I am no longer comfortable standing for long periods or even taking my usual short walks. I went to see my doctor and he advised I do an xray. The xray result showed marginal lipping of L1-L3, Large constipated bowel with no penumoperitonum seen. In addition, there are times I feel as if my blood is hot and generally uncomfortable.

Brief Answer:
Avoid pushing and pulling of heavy objects.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have read your query.
You should try to avoid pushing and pulling of heavy objects.
Take aceclofenac + thiocochicoside combination three times a day and pregabalin at night by prescription of your family doctor.
Also constipation can actually worsen the pain as it looks like a radiculopathy pain and exerting more pressure can increase the pain. So please take a high fiber diet so that it doesn't occur. You should take OTC stool softeners too as it will help.
Apply hot packs for 30 mins in morning and evening.
I hope it helps.
Thanks.
Dr.Singh.
