default
Posted on Thu, 19 Nov 2015
Question: Having bad breath problem since 1 year and I've been to dentist a couple of times and as far as they are considered, its not the problem with my mouth. I feel mucus stuck in my throat that is causing the bad breath. I tried many times to take it out but failed. I maintain good oral hygiene. Sometimes, when I have cold and cough to take the mucus out, I was successful taking out the bad breath causing mucus, but not all times. Need help.

Brief Answer:
May be suffering from sinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that you may be suffering from the sinusitis and it is the cause of your symptoms.

But to reach the near diagnosis or rule out the other disease you may go for
1. Anterior rhinoscopy and posterior rhinoscopy.
2. Nasal endoscopy and laryngoscopy.
3. CT scan of paranasal sinuses.

Either send the investigation report to me or consult with your ENT specialilst for further management.

Thanks

Hey, one more clarification. If its a sinusitis problem, how long do you think does it take for me to get rid of this problem? Any idea?

Thank you,

Brief Answer:
Depend on test result and your response to the treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
Most welcome.
If it’s a sinusitis then it depends on the test result (extent of the disease and how many sinuses involve) and your response to the treatment.

Wish you speedy recovery
