What Causes Black Colored Vomit After Taking Xoom?
Question: Hi I am 11 weeks pregnant. i Got to know on my 10th week. Doc advised to take few medicine. But particularly the medicine i take in afternoon is "Xoom" Contains (Ferrous ascorbate, folic acid and zinc sulphate) give me vomit every day since i have taken from past week. I vomit within 10 to 40 min after taking. Advised to take before lunch. so today when i had only water 2 hours before i vomitted some black water. Please advise what should i do. They have called on 13 week for some blood test and scan. i know folic acid is good for baby. But m not sure this black vomit is serious? please advise.

Vomiting after taking iron may be due to gastritis or allergy to the capsule. You can take pantoprazole along with domperidone and antacid gel.
Black vomit may be due to the iron element itself or some gastric bleeding, so stop using Xoom, you can take plain folic acid (folvite).
