Spots started to appear 2 weeks back. I noticed the black patches behind ear and armpits today only. I'm not sure when it started. Shape is like seed/oval. I'm taking fish oil and took welcome 6 months back. I'm not exposed to any sun in last couple of months as I'm located in cold weather place.. The color of spots is always black and didn't see any changes in color.. I'm getting worried. Can you please let me if this is a serious condition. Thanks
Brief Answer:
nothing serious...
Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for your follow up...
All the above description of yours like no change in colour, shape, no risk factors like exposure to sunlight...will suggest that these lesions are benign that is harm less..could be due to infection...you might need a course of antibiotics and local antibiotic ointment... Please see a doctor for examination and prescription of antibiotics...you will be OK...
wish you a speedy recovery... Take care..

Thanks doctor. I went to primary care physician and he told me that these are not serious and might be due to sun exposure long back and got aggravated now. He told me to apply triamcinolone ointment and the dark patches will go away. I've been applying the ointment for past 6 days but the spots/patches still there. Only bleeding/itching gone. Can it be due to sun exposure? Can it be infection as you mentioned? What course of antibiotics that I should take...Please advise. Thanks a lot..
Brief Answer:
It is infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your follow up. Nothing to worry give some time they will come down. Since you have got same lesions in the arm pits its unlikely due to exposure to sunlight. It could be infection as I said earlier. I recommend the following.
1) A course of antibiotics like amoxicillin with clavulinic acid with doctor prescription
2) Antibiotic ointment like fusidic acid
3) Anti histaminic like levocetrizine for itching relief.
You will be fine. It takes some time to heal.
Wish you a speedy recovery.Take care. Have a nice day.
