What Causes Black Vaginal Discharge After Missing Dose Of Contraceptive Pills?

Question: I was diagnosed with endometriosis 4 months ago. My doctor placed my on a birth control regimen where I do not take the last 7 "sugar pills" and continue with the regular pills to help slow the process of the endometriosis. I have had some spotting through out the last few months due to either missing a pill or just cause my body was not used to the pills yet. I just recently missed 4 consecutive pills in a row. I usually get spotting with in 2 days of missing a pill. So i thought that this was unusual so I was told by a friend to not continue taking my pills until after I get my period. On the 5th day I had intercourse. The day after I had dark brown, almost black discharge just that day. This is extremely unusual for me. I generally start spotting about 2 days after I miss a pill and the spotting turns into a steady flow for about 5 days. I have been urinating more frequently than usual. Could I be pregnant?

Contraceptive pills should be taken regularly, if not there efficiency will be reduced. If you miss more than 2 tablets i usually advice them to use other methods of contraceptive like condom.
Your irregular pattern of bleeding is due to missed tablets.As you had bleeding after intercourse, less chances of pregnancy but we can't rule out pregnancy, Get your pregnancy test done before starting next pack.

You should use them regularly to reduce endometriosis symptoms.
