What Causes Blackish Red Color Patch On Thigh?

default
Posted on Thu, 19 May 2016
Question: Hello Doctor,
Few months back I have noticed a blackish red color patch on thigh. It appears to be underneath the skin and not over it, but I could see it. It is dark initially but it started getting lightened and disappeared. Few days back I could again find a similar patch below the abdomin on the leg. Is it any sign of any health condition? In the recent blood reports the lympocytes count is 2.9 Is it due to this I am facing this issue? Please let me know

Thanks
doctor

Brief Answer:
Most probably ecchymosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
According to your history it seems to be patches of ecchymosis which is basically formed due to bleeding in the skin.
They gradually change colour and disappear.
It usually occurs secondary to trauma but can also occur due to some bleeding disorder.
I would recommend you to get the following tests done to rule out any abnormality: bleeding time, clotting time and platelet count.
Lymphocyte count is not related to this condition.

Mention the exact lymphocyte count in microlitre of blood or percentage

Detailed Answer:
Normal lymphocyte count is 1000- 4800 lymphocytes per microlitre of blood or 20-40 percent of total white blood cells.
What is the exact value of your lymphocytes in microlitre of blood or percentage wise?
