Brief Answer:
Possible causes explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

Bleeding after removing a catheter might be due to several causes from trauma that the catheter might have caused to a urinary infection or other problems of the urinary system.

Knowing more information on your symptoms would help better determine the cause.

- If you have frequent urination and burning a urinary infection can be the cause. In this case drinking plenty is needed and possibly antibiotics. A urinalysis is needed in this case and probably a urine culture as well.

- Trauma from the catheter would be expected to cause bleeding soon after removal.

- If you have just bleeding without other urinary symptoms then probably bladder polyps or other tumors might be considered and you will need to have further examinations to rule them out.A cystoscopy might be ordered in this case (this is a test that checks the bladder with a small camera)

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
