Brief Answer:
Lower Gastrointestinal Bleed

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

If there is fresh blood associated with the stool then its a lower G.I bleed as upper G.I bleed presents with black stool referred to as melena. Local erosions due to constipation / hard stool / straining , Hemorrhoids, gastroenteritis and parasitic infestation are the most likely causes in the young age group. However , colon cancer, anal fissure and inflammatory bowel disease can also present with lower G.I bleed in similar manner. Stool for ova and parasite , anoscopy, DRE ( Digital Rectal exam ) should be done and based on the findings treatment can be initiated or a Proctoscopy / colonoscopy can be advised if the cause of the bleeding is still not clear.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
