default
Posted on Tue, 10 Jun 2014
Question: My son is 2 1/2 yrs.. the other day I noticed blood coming out of his right ear.. not a large amt but enought to notice. NO sign of bug bite, scratch, etc.. took him to the ER only to say nothing in ear but wax and no sign of blood? leaving as , could have pulled wax out and could be bleeding from a pulled hair inside the ear. He did last week take a good spill on his head, as well as, he has a terrible habit of head butting objects. floor, wall, etc.

Brief Answer:
Please dont worry!!

Detailed Answer:
Hello

The bleeding which you noticed must be an incidental finding due small injury like pulling of hair or ear picking with small sharp objects like a pen or finger nails.

The small injury may not be seen many times and you have nothing to worry!

Your child has already been examined and nothing has been detected , i dont think you have to be apprehensive and can rest assured that your child is fine.

If however he develops pain , bleeds again , or develops decreased hearing , i would like you to meet your ent doctor , who will examine him and guide you further.

Meanwhile you have nothing to worry , please let him carry on with his playing and don restrict his activities.

Take care!
