What Causes Blister At Coronal Sulcus After Having Unprotected Sex?

default
Posted on Tue, 25 Nov 2014
Question: I had a couple very tiny pinpoint blisters on my circumcision scar after unprotected sex and then dry masterbation last saturday. They were close but not right next to each other but both along the circumcision scar. This happen one other time in which I had like 3 tiny abrasions with one starting as a tiny blister. I was worried about herpies the first time and went for testing. The doctor felt it was nothing more then an abrasion and did not do a hsv test. I have not developed any sores and it appeared within a couple hours this time of sex. Should I be worried about herpies or is it common for this type of thing to happen? Its not in the exact same spots as last time. The last time on the frenulum and on the start of the circumcision scar. The curent ones look like very tiny abrasions/breaks in the skin now and hurt/burn a little but they are not sores. I have had no history of std's in the past or know anyone I have been with to have any as they have all been long time partners. Only history I have had is recent prostatitis. I have been applying neosporin and/or Aquaphor to the area. I have hydrocortisone cream but have not used it. Any recommendations?

Brief Answer:
Herpes 2 infectio has to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have
developed blister at coronal sulcus after having unprotected sex .

Herpes infection can remain dormant for years together .

In view of unprotected sex it is always better to get it ruled out by doing
1)Microscopic examination(Swab Test) of a fluid from the blister
2) Polymerase chain reaction test (PCR test).
3) Blood test for detection of antibodies .

Take antiviral medication like Acyclovir twice daily tp control the active infection

Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to write if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards .

I have attached a photo. I am also experiencing rash like symptoms and redness throughout penis and groin area the same as last time 6 months ago. I had been treated at plan parenthood at that time and was diagnosed with an abrasion from masterbation and some sort of allergic reaction. is it a possibility that this is balantitis (sp) as I have recently been showering with shampoo because I had run out of soap. I had also recently been on cipro for prostintitis but had ended a week prior to symptoms. the blisters were barely visible when present and had no associated pain. There have been no open sores but there appeared to be a break in the skin at first just like the last time. The location of the these red spots/abrasions are consistent with my hand placement during masterbation that would have the most friction. I plan to get the hsv blood test as soon as I can get free of work but just want to know if their maybe another cause. Thank you for your time.

Brief Answer:
Thanks for uploading Photograph.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.
based on the photograph that you have uploaded it seems to a simple bacterial nfection resulting out of rough handling of penis during masturbation ,However it is better to rule out HSV infection .

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexine along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.

Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily

Ensure to avoid sexual encounters till it heals up completely.

Thanks and Regards,
Dr.Patil.
