Question: My granddaughter has blister sores on her vulva area . She was just on antibiotics a couple weeks ago for a respiratory infection and shes better but now she has these awful sores. She is 18 months old, plus her mom used different wipes lately also. What should she get to help heal these sores? Or should she take her to the clinic?
Brief Answer:
Impetigo bullosa may be the diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
With short history, it seems that your granddaughter may be having impetigo bullosa on her vulva. There may be blister or bulla initially followed by erosion and then crusts. Impetigo bullosa is a bacterial infection caused by staphylococci.
She had respiratory infection suggesting poor immunity. Consult dermatologist immediately for firm diagnosis.
Oral antibiotics like cefixime in proper dose and anti inflammatory drugs like nimesulide might be prescribed by him. Antibiotic cream like sisomycine or nadifloxacine cream may be applied on the lesions. Avoid soap bath. Use dettol liquid in water for bath.
I hope you might be satisfied with my answer. Still, any query..you are welcome.
