What Causes Bloating After Eating, Reduced Appetite, Lower Back Pain And Nausea?

Question: Hello, I have stomach bloating when I eat, loss of appetite, lower back pain and nausea. I was checked last year for utinerine cancer and ovarian and all was good. I have trouble going to the bathroom and take 10 250 mg of magnesium a night. I have been taking this every night for a year and a half. If I don't I am not able to go to the bathroom. I have tried Citrucel but it doesn't work. I had a an umbilical hernia surgery 9 years ago. The doctor checked to make sure all was good with that and it was. The last two weeks my symptoms have increased. I have vomited twice this week and even drinking fluids makes me feel like I ate a full meal. It is sometimes 2 in the afternoon when I feel like I can eat something. I had a low grade fever this past week as well. I have lost 17 pounds since the end of July. I take ibuprofen a lot because I have chronic neck pain. And I drink a lot of caffeine. Can you maybe give me an idea of what you think may be going on. I am not feeling well.

A little more detail....I should say that my stomach is extended as if I am pregnant. It is the upper abdomen and it is hard to the touch. Sometimes when I sneeze I feel my upper intestines cramp up as if they are moving and I am in a lot of pain. As if I have a XXXXXXX Horse in my intestines. It only happens when I sneeze and when I am sitting. It sometimes takes 10 minutes for it too stop. Other times only a minute. It is always on my left side never my right. I hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
Dyspepsia with red signs

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I am Dr.Barani and I am pleased to assist you.

You are having late onset dyspepsia.
The red sign of loss of 17 pounds in less than 2 months indicate you need thorough investigation.
There could be a probably malignancy with obstruction at the stomach outlet.
Chronic ibuprofen intake leading to peptic ulcer and its complication is another possibility.
Gastroparesis is the third possibility.

I would advise you to get an upper GI endoscopy done at the earliest.
Consult your gastroenterologist fof this test.

I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.Barani
