What Causes Bloating And Diarrhea After Gallbladder Removal?

I've been given pancrelipase , but unfortunately it made things worse for my situation.
When I had blood tests two weeks after the surgery, my ALT was 39 and and the AST 25. Last week new results have shown ALT 74 and AST 48. The doctor sent me to blood tests for Hepatitis A, B, C. I'm currently waiting for the results and I'm really stressed out. I don't see how what I suffer from has got to do with Hepatitis. I read that Hepatitis has different symptoms like yellowish skin and fever, symptoms I'm not having.
I don't really understand what's happening to my body. My problem falls through the cracks. Each doctor says something different, but I still feel that nobody sends me to the right tests. I finally met yesterday a gastroenterologist and he gave me Cholestyramine. I hope it will help me this round.
Do you think I should be concerned about the Hepatitis or my liver?
Could be Post Cholecystectomy Syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Hi
THanks for writin in
Can clearly understand your anxiety at varied opinions from specialists
One thing which I always look for in patients whose gall bladder is removed is post cholecystectomy syndrome
It usually occurs because of the inability of the digestive system to get extra bile for digestion of fatty fried meals as there is no storage left
YOur liver functions are altered but not very significant, I woulld prefer refraining from stamping till the liver panel is available
Reassure your self
Cholestyramine will surely help you in diarrhoea
Add a PPI like Omeprazole for bloating etc
The fact that your specialist has added cholestyramine suggests he is looking for the diagnosis of Post cholecystectomy syndrome
A probiotic could be of some help, take it twice a day
Hope this helps
Do write back in case of concern
