What Causes Blocked Ear Sensation And Nasal Congestion?
Ehstachian tube blockage is possible, using chewing gums and decongestants
Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic!
Based on the history you have shared, it seems as if it is due to eustachian tube blockade as your doctor had also suspected. It can be due to recent flu, upper respiratory tract infection, and or allergies. In absence of anynof these unfevtions reecently, I would suggest to get an ENT examination to rule out any middle ear infection.
Simple pressure effects like due to air travel speedy motion or driving on altitudes can also lead to such symptoms.
Normally it settles at its own, but simple measures like chewing gum on the effected side of the mouth, and closing your nose and mouth forcefully and blow air inside to deflect pressure through eustachian tube may help. Using decongestants sprays may also help. If any signs of infection is seen on examination discuss use of antibiotics like augmentin or azithromycin after discussing with your GP.
Hoping you a speedy recovery. If you dont have any more questions, please close the discussion. You can also reach me directly through my profile in future, in case of any more questions, Regards.
