Brief Answer:
Mostly Infection of the middle ear

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Good Morning.

The history of blocked ear with hissing sound with a cold is suggestive of collection of a fluid in the middle ear.

I would advise you the following.
Consult an ENT Surgeon if you have not yet. He will confirm the diagnosis and you get a prescription for the following medicines.
Antibiotic
Decongestant nasal drops and oral tablets
Anti-inflammatory tablets
Steam inhalation with plain water after instilling nasal drops
Do not blow the nose
Do not instill any ear drops, it does not help contrary to the belief.
Always complete the courses till complete resolution / cure.

A proper treatment takes about 1 to 3 weeks for resolution of your problem.

Wishing you an early and permanent recovery.

Brief Answer:
yes, it will.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, it will have temporary effect on the ear drum. The ear drum must have been congested, meaning swollen and red. This becomes normal if you take a proper treatment as outlined above.

Since this is happening to you for the first time, please complete the course till you are cured.

Thanks XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your appreciation XXXXXXX
Please continue the treatment till the fungus is cured, instill the anti-fungal drops for about 3 weeks to avoid recurrence in future, get your blood sugar tested just to make sure you are not diabetic ( as this can be one of the reasons for a ear fungus).

Wishing you an early and complete recovery.
