Brief Answer: How long has this been going on? Any Fever? Detailed Answer: Hello XXXXXXX Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. I see that you have symptoms of a congested airway. May I ask how long these symptoms have been bothering you? How did they start, with the problems in the chest first, or problems in the nose? Have you had any fevers or chills or body aches accompanying the cough and chet issues? I am asking these questions because I a trying to figure out if what you are suffering from is an allergy or an infection. The more information you can give me the more helpful I can be. If it is an infection, we can start a course of antibiotics, allergies.. we will have to go with antihistamines. The two treatments are totally opposite, so I don't want to causally tell you to take something. Try and tell me a bit more about the congestion and I will get back to you. Vinay

No Fever or body ache this time around. It usually starts during change of weather every year and has viral like symptoms (body ache, fever etc). For me it starts with a cold (nose block) and then usually results in severe chest congestion. This time around I was struck with viral about a month back for which I took the entire course of antibiotics. The symptoms subsided but with a niggling of chest congestion still remaining (No cold or nose blockage) Now, the cold seem to have resurfaced also am facing bouts of cough and severe chest congestion. No body ache or fever as on now though. Thanks

Brief Answer: Sounds more like Allergies to me Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for following up. Sounds like you are developing allergies that affect your sinuses as well. You will need to start using an AntiHistamine. There are many that are available Over The Counter (OTC). i would try a medication like Cetrizine before bed and see fi that helps you feel better in the morning. If it does than we can put you on a regime which clears you up. I hope this helps, Vinay
