Question: I WAS DIAGNOSED IN JANUARY WITH RA, IN ADDITION TO HAVING OSTEO ARTHRITIS, LUMBAR & CERVICAL STENOSIS, DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE, CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE SND DIABETES. THE RA HAS CAUSED THE RA NODULES AND JUST YESTERDAY HAD A TEST TO DETERMINE IF THERE ARE HEART NODULES. BUT, I HAVE SEVERAL INQUIRES: what are the signs of lung nodules, I have horrible exhaustion and already had been taking for 3 years, 200mg twice a day of Provigil/Modafinil for narcolepsy, I can sleep for a number of hours, walk to the chair in my living room and uncontrollably fall asleep again! My pain management doctor who has been treating me for 10+ years, trying a myriad of medicines that failed, including morphine prescribes 90mg of oxycodone every 8 hours and hydrocodone for break through pain, all of which has been successful. When diagnosed with RA, which was advanced as my PREVIOUS internist brushed off my gnarled joints, swelling nodules and outrageous pain in hands, ankles, wrists, neck etc. as my lab work DID NOT INDICATE, RA, but my pain specialist sent me thank goodness, to a rheumatologist, after an exam an X-rays, he stated due to the degree of my damage, my RA had been "percolating" for 5 or more years. Immediately I was placed on ORENCIA injections once a week ( this method was necessary as at that time I only had Medicare but no supplemental coverage, although infusion would have been optimal-effective october1 I had the coverage and had my 1st infusion October 15th with my second scheduled 11/12/15 . My issue is a week or so before my first infusion I began to have what looks like blood blisters/spots in both arms but only between elbows and wrists. They are a deep wine color and very very slow to fade and the ones that have start to fade from the center, out. They suddenly appear for no reason, no bumping, no trauma at all...is this from ORENCIA or the RA; and why is this happening. When I go for my infusion I will certainly show my doctor, will I be allowed to have the infusion having so many of them... Right now, both arms I have 15 spots, some large and some not so large...help me understand

Good evening

Thank you for writing on health care magic

I have gone through your history.

Firstly, if you could attach the picture of the spots on here, it would be helpful as I would like to see what kind of spots are coming up and what exactly is happening there.

Secondly, I would like to know if ANA was tested for you previously. Since you mentioned your rheumatoid tests were negative, it is always worth while looking at ANA as well which can explain these spots.

Thirdly, are the spots itchy or they have just cropped up? It is possible it can be a drug reaction, but I would like to take a look at it before commenting on it further

Do let me know these queries.

Await your reply

Good evening

ANA is a marker of autoimmune disease, indicating your body is attacking your own body. It can present as arthritis especially when the tests for rheumatoid are negative. Drugs like orencia can trigger it at times. SO i wanted to be sure they have performed it for you before labelling you as rheumatoid

The pictures you can contact the moderator and they will help you out in attaching it. Even the reports you can attach

Do try it and let me know if it works or will give you my email
